NextImg:Mariah Carey put on blast online for visiting Biden at White House

Pop star Mariah Carey was met with angry comments on social media after posting a photo with President Joe Biden in the White House.

Carey was documenting her trip to Washington, D.C., from last week in a post on Instagram on Wednesday. The photo included her twin children, who met with the president in the Oval Office.

"Last week I had the pleasure of meeting President Biden & Vice President Harris at the White House to ring in the holiday season!" Carey captioned the photo. "While there, we got to see all the festive decor and spread some cheer!"

However, some online took issue with Carey taking a meeting with Biden in light of his policy surrounding the war between Israel and Hamas.

"Sorry did she say ‘A PLEASURE’ ?! Another celeb jumping on the bandwagon to praise those complicit in an actual genocide," user Maliha Khaan commented under the picture.

"Did you ask them how it feels like signing off on brutalizing and murdering thousands of Palestinian children? All I want for Christmas is a ceasefire now!!!" user Nadeem Saaed wrote, paraphrasing Carey's hit holiday song.

"I love u mother but sloppy Joe and wack Kamala ain’t it," singer Alma Lake wrote.

"Oo girl we don’t celebrate with genocidal maniacs," user Jenan Matari commented.

Several other users referred to the president as "Genocide Joe" in reference to the lives lost in Gaza during the conflict. The White House holds a stance in favor of Israel and has rejected calls for ceasefires.

Protesters have appeared in front of the White House to show their disapproval of Biden, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. During a pause between Israel and Hamas in which hostages were exchanged, Hamas abruptly ended the agreed-upon pause early by launching missiles at Israel.
