For too long, left-wing activists have told parents that the debate over biological males in girls’ sports and private spaces is overblown. They argued that opposition to men in women’s spaces was simply a distraction from more pressing issues. National media figures echoing this narrative even claimed there is “no evidence” that mixing spaces threatens safety or fairness.
Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki asserted there were “incredibly few examples” of biological males competing in girls’ sports. Soccer star Megan Rapinoe called legislation on the issue a solution to “a problem that doesn’t exist.” And Sen. Andy Kim (D-NJ) told parents that the debate is in fact “not about the safety and security of our kids.”

The message was consistent: biological males in women’s spaces was a negligible problem.
But for many of us, especially parents of daughters, the assurances rang hollow alongside what we saw our daughters confronting with our own eyes. While elected officials, aided by much of the legacy media, insisted that everything was fine, families across the country were experiencing something altogether different.
It was happening. It was widespread. And it still is.
Earlier this month, American Parents Coalition launched a first-of-its-kind interactive map, documenting cases where biological males were allowed into girls’ sports, locker rooms, bathrooms, and other private spaces. The map compiles incidents from public records, news reports, and firsthand accounts from parents. It provides a visual, data-driven representation of stories that have been dismissed or forgotten across the country. Now, families have something they can reference when they are misled by the media and others with a political agenda.
Each point on the map undercuts the left-wing narrative that the problem does not exist. What’s more, this map only scratches the surface. While it visually captures documented incidents, it does not portray the ripple effect of each one. For every boy who takes a girl’s spot on a sports team, the impact spreads: every girl on the team feels it, the girl cut from the roster to make space for the boy experiences it, and every girl on every opposing team is touched by it. The consequences of these policies are boundless, and women and girls are not “crazy” or “blowing things out of proportion” for saying so.
One particularly disturbing entry comes from Kansas City, Missouri. A mother took her 7-year-old daughter to the local YMCA and, while in the women’s locker room, her daughter was unexpectedly exposed to a naked man — a biological male who claimed, “Honey, I’m a woman.” The mother reported the incident, but the YMCA stood by its policy of allowing biological men in women’s spaces if they identify as female.
There are many more stories like this on the map. Some involve young girls; others involve high school and collegiate athletes. In Washington State, a male athlete placed first in multiple high school girls’ track events. In California, after the state chose to defy President Donald Trump’s executive order prohibiting male participation in female sports, a girls’ team was forced to forfeit when their opponent added a biological male to the roster. And in Illinois, a 16-year-old swimmer was banned from her local YMCA after she spoke out about being forced to share a locker room with a male.

This issue is not just about sports, locker rooms, or cabins. It’s about whether we’re willing to recognize that biology, safety, and privacy still matter in law and in life. It’s about whether young women should have the right to change in private, to compete fairly, and to speak up when those expectations are violated. No parent wants to see their daughter unjustly lose a spot, a title, or a sense of security because society is rewriting biological facts to satisfy a political agenda. But that is what’s happening, often without warning.
American Parents Coalition is continuing to monitor for these instances across the country. This resource exists to make those stories visible. Parents deserve to know what’s happening in their communities. And girls deserve to know someone is paying attention.
