Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) vowed Wednesday to oppose all of President Joe Biden's Environmental Protection Agency nominees unless the administration halts its plans to regulate U.S. power plant emissions.

Manchin, the head of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, described the rules expected to be proposed by the EPA this week as the latest in a long regulatory agenda "designed to kill the fossil industry by a thousand cuts."

"I fear that this Administration’s commitment to their extreme ideology overshadows their responsibility to ensure long-lasting energy and economic security and I will oppose all EPA nominees until they halt their government overreach," he said.
