A man in Maryland has filed a discrimination suit against a local bar alleging that he was banned from the location for being an "old, white" man.
The incident occurred on Feb. 18, 2022, at Dan's Restaurant & Taphouse in Boonsboro, Maryland, when 52-year-old Neal Glessner was asked to leave the establishment, according to a report citing the lawsuit.

Initially filed in December, the lawsuit was updated last week and reads that Glessner, who claims to be a regular at Dan's, was banned after he complained about a to-go order that took 40 minutes to get ready, the report noted.
There have been reports that at least one person used a racial slur.
After Glessner complained, the establishment's manager, identified as Mike Skinner, requested that one of Glessner's friends inform him that he was banned, according to the complaint.
The identity of the friend has not been confirmed in the lawsuit, but it has been reported to be Circuit Judge Joseph Michael.
Michael allegedly refused to give Glessner the message, causing Skinner to become upset, according to the lawsuit.
"You old, white people act like you own everything," the manager allegedly yelled. "Get the f*** out of here!"
Authorities were called to the location, and Michael left without a protest, according to bodycam footage.
"You [and Glessner] are not allowed to come back here again," Skinner allegedly yelled.
Roughly one year after the incident, Glessner discovered the establishment's "history of demonstrating animus towards white people," he said.
At least six other white men have been barred from the location for "otherwise inexplicable reasons," according to Glessner.
Co-owner of Dan's, Charlotte Aufdem-Brinke, said the lawsuit is "frivolous," according to the report.
"Mr. Glessner was asked to leave our restaurant due to repeated occurrences of disruptive behavior against members of our team," she said. "Nothing more. Nothing less."
After the lawsuit was filed, a group led by reported far-right activist Shaun Porter displayed signs outside Dan's on Sunday reading "Old White Men’s Lives Matter" and "It Is Okay to be White," the report noted.
"They tried to bury us, but they don't know we are seeds," Aufdem-Brinke said.
Glessner alleged that the owners of Dan's are trying to portray him as someone he is not, the report noted.
"Dan and Charlotte Aufdem-Brinke are trying to paint me as an angry racist who is willfully acting to dismantle their business with what they term 'a frivolous, baseless lawsuit,'" he said. "This couldn’t be further from the truth."
"[Anyone] who thinks this is about BLM, Trump, or any other political issue is ignoring the facts to promote a political agenda that is not mine," he added in a Monday statement.

In a statement of her own, Aufdem-Brinke argued the lawsuit was a product of Glessner's "animosity toward my personal views and our advocacy for social and economic justice."
It is an attempt to "bully a successful small businesswoman and community activist into submission," she said.
