Police in Lewiston, Maine, have ordered people and businesses to shelter in place after shootings at multiple locations left 16 people dead, according to CNN.
CNN reported Wednesday that between 50 and 60 people had been hurt in the incidents across the town as well.

Authorities in the state were investigating multiple areas as of Wednesday night, according to CNN.
A possible suspect was in custody as of around 9:20 p.m., according to Fox News's Jacqui Heinrich. She also reported a higher death count at 22.

One shooting broke out at a bowling alley in Lewiston, and additional shots fired were reported at a local bar and a Walmart distribution center, according to ABC News.
