Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said the drone sightings in U.S. airspace have left him worried about “an attack on the homeland.”
For weeks, people have reported sightings of car-sized drones all over New Jersey, notably in Bedminster, where Gov. Phil Murphy (D-NJ) lives and President-elect Donald Trump’s golf course is located. Since then, drones have been spotted above New York, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, California, and Utah.
“I do know what is going on. I have never been more worried about an attack on home end than I am right now,” Graham said on Fox News’s Hannity. “Why are all these sightings in November? There’s something new going on, the people telling us about the drones at have lived there all on their lives. There’s something new going on. What is that something new? And why is it around military bases?”
According to Graham, the Biden administration does not have a great record on national security. While President Joe Biden opted to shoot down a Chinese spy balloon last year, his immigration policy has left the border unsecured.
“Your problem is how do you know when they are lying versus when they are incompetent?” Graham said of the administration. “We’re talking about drones today, what about terrorists on the watchlist here in the largest numbers ever? What about a broken border where 13 million people coming into our country?”

There haven’t been any attempts to shoot these drones down, as that is considered the purview of the federal government rather than local law enforcement.
In the meantime, the Federal Aviation Administration temporarily banned drones from the airspace above the military base and Trump’s golf resort. It is already against the FAA regulations to man drones after sunset and before sunrise when these drones have been spotted.
