NextImg:Liberal judge attempts to overrule Congress - Washington Examiner

Roe v. Wade may finally be gone, but liberal judges are continuing to prioritize abortion above all other aspects of the law, including the Constitution itself.

The “Big, Beautiful Bill” passed by Congress and signed by President Donald Trump included a provision blocking Medicaid dollars from being used to reimburse health providers who perform abortions. That is the more precise way to say that the bill defunds Planned Parenthood, the abortion mill and Democratic Party advocacy organization. The bill prevents federal funding for Planned Parenthood for just a single year.

Judge Indira Talwani has issued a temporary restraining order blocking that provision and ordering the government to continue funding Planned Parenthood. This is a galling abuse of power. Talwani would be impeached if members of Congress had any respect for themselves and their branch of government. This was not an executive action, but one of the few times Congress actually did its job and legislated. Talwani is now deciding that she can single-handedly overrule Congress’s authority to distribute federal funds.

This is the result of years of liberal judges coddling abortionists and excessively cracking down on any law perceived as restricting abortion in some manner. Roe was used as a cudgel against abortion waiting periods, requiring abortionists to have hospital admitting privileges and other laws that the abortion industry wanted to block. But Roe is gone, and Talwani’s ruling goes further than any other liberal activist judge has gone. She asserts that Congress must use taxpayer dollars to fund a private organization no matter how members of Congress vote on the topic.

WISCONSIN SUPREME COURT STRIKES DOWN CENTURY-OLD ABORTION BAN

Democrats have spent the last few months running around screaming about “no kings” with regard to Trump. But they do have a king, and that king is abortion. Talwani wants to force the federal government to fund Planned Parenthood even after Congress and the President took the constitutionally appropriate steps to defund it. She no doubt hopes to use the courts to run out the clock on that one-year defunding ban so that it expires without ever taking effect. Not a single Democratic politician will be outraged; they will only be upset if Republicans rightfully initiate impeachment proceedings against Talwani.

This is an abuse of power, tacitly approved of by the Democratic Party, and all in the name of forcing taxpayers to fund abortion mills that funnel money to Democratic campaigns.
