Comedian Larry David reportedly once asked billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk if he wanted "to murder kids in schools" over his increasing support for the Republican Party.
The Seinfeld co-creator asked the question when he and Musk were attending a wedding last year. The wedding took place on May 28, only a few days after the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, when Musk was asked David's question, according to a book by author Walter Isaacson detailing Musk's life.

"No, no,” said Musk, who was “baffled” and “annoyed,” according to Isaacson. “I’m anti-kid murder.”
David then asked Musk how he could vote Republican. In discussing the encounter with Issacson, David claimed that Musks's statements on social media, specifically posts claiming Democrats were "the party of division," were "sticking in my craw.”
“Even if Uvalde never happened, I probably would have brought it up, because I was angry and offended,” David said.

Notably, David questioning Musk on how he could vote Republican was several weeks before June 14, 2022, when Musk claimed he voted Republican for the first time in his life for then-candidate Mayra Flores.
In November last year, Musk signaled that he would support Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) should he choose to challenge former President Donald Trump to be the Republican Party's presidential nominee in 2024. DeSantis announced his presidential run on social media, where Musk was present for the announcement.
