Kyle Rittenhouse is stepping up his role as an activist by launching a nonprofit organization committed to battling gun control and protecting the Second Amendment.
Since his move to Texas following his 2021 trial, Rittenhouse has become a figure in pro-gun politics and has been seen rallying for conservative candidates.

He filed paperwork with the secretary of state for the Rittenhouse Foundation, which will be based out of Fort Worth and have the mission of defending "an individual's inalienable right to bear arms" via "education and legal assistance."
Rittenhouse is the foundation's director with Texas Gun Rights President Chris McNutt and Shelby Griesinger of the Defend Texas Liberty PAC, according to a report.
Figures like McNutt and Griesinger have helped bring in funding for the foundation, the report noted.
Prior efforts of Rittenhouse to combat gun control include opposing legislation that would have increased the age to purchase an automatic weapon from 18 to 21, according to the report.

Rittenhouse gained national attention after he shot and killed two people during the 2020 riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, days after the August shooting of Jacob Blake, a black man, by police.
He was found not guilty on all charges in the homicide trial against him on Nov. 19, 2021, and he has maintained that his actions were necessary for self-defense.
