Vanessa Bryant, the widow of the late Kobe Bryant, has agreed to accept a $28.85 million settlement relating to a lawsuit filed over photos taken of the helicopter crash site where her husband and teenage daughter died.
The photos showed the remains of Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna after they and nine others died on Jan. 26, 2020, in the devastating crash outside Los Angeles, according to a report.

Employees of the Los Angeles County fire and sheriff's departments reportedly took the photos and shared them following the crash, which caused Vanessa Bryant to sue for negligence and invasion of privacy.
Included in the settlement is a $15 million award Vanessa Bryant won in the aforementioned lawsuit against the county following a two-week civil jury, and the additional funds serve as a resolution to all claims she might have.
The settlement would cover all of the Bryant family children and is still subject to approval by the court.

"Today marks the successful culmination of Mrs. Bryant’s courageous battle to hold accountable those who engaged in this grotesque conduct," her attorney, Luis Li, said in a statement.
"She fought for her husband, her daughter, and all those in the community whose deceased family were treated with similar disrespect. We hope her victory at trial and this settlement will put an end to this practice."
