EXCLUSIVE — Kirk Cameron, who is releasing his second children’s book about pride, titled Pride Comes Before the Fall, said, “Pride is not leading us in the right direction.”
Cameron’s newest book is scheduled to be released on June 1, coinciding with LGBT Pride Month. It follows his first faith-based children’s book, As You Grow, which follows the journey of a tree’s growth and details the value of “biblical wisdom through the seasons of life.”

“Some people are teaching children to celebrate something as dangerous as pride, which is ultimately self-focused,” Cameron told the Washington Examiner. “I want to teach kids that humility is the pathway that leads to blessing.”
Cameron explained that the book is just the first in a series he plans to write about seven deadly sins, including "greed, gluttony, sloth, wrath, envy, and lust.”
The actor, film producer, and author also noted that he is finding hope as he sees the “power of God working in the hearts of people” who attend the library stops along his nationwide story hour tour in coordination with conservative children’s publisher Brave Books.
Brave Books founder Trent Talbot told the Washington Examiner that “conservatives are becoming more and more aware that there is an agenda behind our entertainment, and while that doesn't make us immune to it, it does make the agenda, at least a little bit, less effective if we're aware that it exists.”
“I think that there's just a distrust of Hollywood and a lot of just mainstream entertainment platforms,” Talbot added. “So Brave Books exists really to give parents, to give Christian conservative parents, a brand that they can trust with their children's imaginations.”
