Actor Kevin Spacey has shared his support for Robert Kennedy Jr. in the 2024 presidential election, in which Kennedy is running as an independent.

The actor posted a statement on X, where he shared video of a documentary that focuses on Kennedy’s life. Spacey, who stopped short of announcing an endorsement, said Kennedy leaned in “when the world turned its back on me,” likely referring to how the actor was blacklisted from Hollywood after accusations of sexual assault.

“He’s a formidable fighter for justice and a loyal friend that’s not afraid to stand up for what he believes,” Spacey wrote.

The Who is Bobby Kennedy? What if he’s not crazy? documentary was released on Friday and begins with the candidate reading various criticisms and accusations he has faced over the years. The documentary was released by the American Values 2024 super PAC, which had previously aired a Kennedy television spot during the 2024 Super Bowl.

Spacey’s support for Kennedy comes shortly after he rejected new accusations of inappropriate behavior, which were made by men featured in the new documentary Spacey Unmasked. The documentary is scheduled to air Monday evening on Channel 4 in Britain and will also be available to stream on Max.

In July, Spacey was found not guilty of nine counts of sexual assault by a jury in the United Kingdom. The decision was made less than a year after the actor was found not liable by a Manhattan jury for a battery claim brought against him by actor Anthony Rapp in a sexual abuse case.
