House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) says he wants an answer to who brought cocaine into the White House after the Secret Service announced it had closed the investigation with no suspect.

On Thursday, Secret Service agents briefed House lawmakers and staff about their investigation into the cocaine found at the White House on July 2 and what it meant for security at the White House. They also announced the investigation had been closed due to a lack of physical evidence.

“It seems to me that Biden Inc. strikes again,” McCarthy said. “How can in the White House, 24/7 security, they find cocaine, but now they just closed the investigation? Where in the country do you get treated like this? Only with the Bidens, with the Bidens in charge. There is no equal justice.”

Despite the case being closed, McCarthy said he still wants to see a conclusion to the investigation and have it end with the Secret Service finding the person who brought the cocaine into the White House.

According to members of the House Oversight Committee who attended the briefing by the Secret Service, the list of who could have left the bag of cocaine in the West Wing had been narrowed down to about 500 people. The cubby where the cocaine was found is currently missing, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) said. But even with the list being narrowed down, the Secret Service did not have enough evidence to find out whose cocaine it was.

“The American people think that’s a farce,” he said. “You should get an answer to the question.”
