White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stumbled over her words Friday while attempting to downplay President Joe Biden's viral fall at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Jean-Pierre was asked to give an update on the president's health but quickly moved to discuss why Biden was at the Air Force Academy.

"So, just wanna remind everybody what the president was in Colorado Springs for yesterday," she said. "He was there to, to offer his thanks to the dedicated brave women and — men and women who were graduating and about to serve in the Air Force."

"He was proud, very proud, to shake the hands of more than 900 of them beforehand," she added.
Jean-Pierre wanted to make sure the press corps understood the president was there as commander in chief, she said, before "clearing the record" on Biden's fall.
"He tripped over a bag, a sandbag on the stage, and briefly he tripped and got up, and he got right back up and continued with [what] he was there to do," she said. "He did not — there was no need for the doctor to see him as it was related to the fall, and he's doing fine."
The president addressed his fall after getting off Marine One.
Before saying anything, Biden had another viral moment when he bumped his head on the door of the helicopter.

After recovering, Biden worked his way down the stairs, passed reporters, and cracked a joke.
"I got sandbagged," he said, raising his arms in the air before giving a little skip and walking into the White House.
