


White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed that she has separated from her partner, Suzanne Malveaux.
Jean-Pierre gave an interview to Vogue that was published Thursday, discussing her separation from Malveaux, the former CNN national correspondent, which includes a co-parenting agreement, as the two share an adopted daughter.

“I’m a single mom who is co-parenting this amazing kid,” Jean-Pierre told the outlet. “Our number-one priority is her privacy and to make sure we create an environment that’s nurturing.”

Their daughter is Soleil, 9, and her adoption process began early in Jean-Pierre's relationship as Malveaux initiated the paperwork.
Jean-Pierre has been the White House Press Secretary since May of last year after serving as the previous Secretary Jen Psaki's deputy secretary.
