Kansas City Chiefs CEO’s wife and daughter comment on Harrison Butker backlash - Washington Examiner

In light of the liberal media’s attempts to demonize traditional conservative values yet again, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker seems to be winning against cancel culture.
Butker, who was the keynote speaker at Benedictine College’s commencement, reflected on traditional conservative values in his speech. And per the liberal media, this is an egregious slight to women’s empowerment.
Clips of the speech have circulated throughout social media platforms mainly focusing on the comments Butker made in reference to his wife and her pursuit of the vocation as a mother and homemaker, which to the liberal social media mob is a cancelable offense.
But according to the family of the Kansas City Chiefs CEO, Clark Hunt, Butker’s speech is defensible.
In an instagram post last week, Tavia Hunt captioned a series of photos showcasing her two daughters, Gracie and Ava as response to the backlash.
“I’ve always encouraged my daughters to be highly educated and chase their dreams,” Tavia said, “But I also want them to know that I believe finding a spouse who loves and honors you as or before himself and raising a family together is one of the greatest blessings this world has to offer.”
Without specifically referring to Butker’s speech, Tavia vocalized support of the traditional ideals of gender roles which Butker was advocated for in the address at Benedictine.
“Affirming motherhood and praising your wife, as well as highlighting the sacrifice and dedication it takes to be a mother, is not bigoted,” Tavia added. “It is empowering to acknowledge that a woman’s hard work in raising children is not in vain.”
The eldest daughter, Gracie, appeared on the FOX news morning program “FOX & Friends,” and commented a similar sentiment as her mother.
“I can only speak from my own experience, which is I had the most incredible mom who had the ability to stay home and be with us as kids growing up,” Gracie said. “And I understand that there are many women out there who can’t make that decision but for me in my life, I know it was really formative in shaping me and my siblings to be who we are.”
Gracie, who noted that these values stem from Butker’s outspoken christian beliefs, said she respected him for his accomplishments.
While the liberal media can attempt to manipulate the traditional values and beliefs held by Butker, the rest of us and the Hunt family can acknowledge the intentions of his entire message.
Context and a vague familiarity with traditional conservative ideals seems to be defensible against canceled culture, to the benefit of Harrison Butker.
