An adage attributed to Oscar Wilde suggests, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.”
There may be no better quote ever uttered by a human to describe Vice President Kamala Harris‘s recent proposals that are little more than a duplication of former President Donald Trump’s policies.
In what should only be described as a theft of intellectual property, Harris, who is the failed “border czar” and former district attorney who enabled illegal immigrants to murder innocent people, had the sheer audacity to commit to resurrecting a previously failed immigration legislation from the Senate that required funding for Trump’s famous border wall as part of her plan to help curb illegal immigration. The illegal immigration, mind you, that Harris said wasn’t a problem. A border wall, mind you, that Harris once called racist and un-American.
What’s next? Harris wearing a business suit with a power tie and a red hat with white lettering as the official attire for her presidential campaign?
The vice president previously took Trump’s idea to have a policy that eliminated paying taxes on employees whose income largely depends on tips and repackaged it as part of her presidential campaign platform. However, Trump’s idea of taxless tips is relatively new. His idea to construct a border wall has been integral to his political identity ever since he came down the escalator to announce his candidacy in 2015.
It’s the latest revelation of Harris’s mediocrity and yet another example of her attempt to steal a Trump idea and pass it off as her own. The vice president announced she would do so during her speech at last week’s Democratic National Convention to thunderous applause and fanfare from those in attendance — people who previously denounced and condemned Trump’s border wall.
“After decades in law enforcement, I know the importance of safety and security, especially at our border,” Harris said. “I will bring back the bipartisan border security bill that he killed, and I will sign it into law.”
The Lankford-Murphy-Sinema immigration reform deal that Harris was referring to had a provision requiring $650 million to be allocated to restart construction on the border wall that was started when Trump was president. This was a key component of the bill, as stipulated by one of its architects, Sen. James Lankford (R-OK).
“It requires the Trump border wall,” Lankford said in an interview. “It is in the bill itself that it sets the standards that were set during the Trump administration: Here’s where it will be built. Here’s how it has to be built, the height, the type, everything during the Trump construction.”
However, the vice president’s demagoguery on border security should not go unnoticed. It is a startling revelation of the empty hollow shell that makes up the political platform of her presidential campaign. It’s another example of how she is deceptive, manipulative, and untrustworthy — all qualities that no voter wants in a president. She is currently the country’s vice president and was specifically tasked by her boss, President Joe Biden, with finding a solution to the border crisis. She did nothing.
Harris’s recent tough talk on the border is a political ruse to deceive millions of voters in hopes of the vice president obtaining power. She has been in office for over three and a half years, during which time she has done none of the political initiatives she is currently suggesting she would do. It is performative politics all for show to hide her incompetence and weakness. She is pretending to be a leader that she is incapable of being.

Benjamin Franklin once said, “Well done is better than well said.” A contemporary version of this quote would be, “Actions speak louder than words.” These are words that Harris has not lived by. There’s no reason to suggest she will change all of her political positions and views. She’s been in political office for decades, and her record reveals the silence of her actions and the loudness of her words.
Only one candidate truly wants to “Make America Great Again”: Trump. There is no need for knockoffs and cheap imitations, such as Harris.
