Former reality TV star Josh Duggar's push to appeal his child pornography conviction has been denied in federal court.

The request for a new trial from Duggar, 35, a former star on the reality show 19 Kids and Counting, comes after he was found guilty on one count of possessing child pornography and one count of receiving child pornography in December 2021. The appeal was rejected by the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, according to the filing.

"We disagree with the reasoning of the Court’s decision and will evaluate all options with our client," Duggar's attorney said.

Duggar's attorneys argued that the jury should not have been allowed to hear incriminating statements in November 2019, when agents questioned him at the car dealership he owned. However, the filing states that Duggar voluntarily spoke with the agents at his dealership and also left the dealership after ending the interview with the agents.

The former TV star was arrested and charged in April 2021 after police found child pornography on a computer at his dealership. He was then sentenced to 151 months in prison in May 2022.

19 Kids and Counting aired from 2008-2015, after which it was canceled in the wake of Duggar's allegations he allegedly molested girls, including some of his sisters.

Duggar is currently serving his 12 1/2-year sentence at FCI Seagoville, a low-security federal prison, near Dallas, Texas. His release date is set for Oct. 12, 2032.
