Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) attended a large pro-Israel rally in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.

The Pennsylvania Democrat was spotted at the rally wearing his signature hoodie and draped in an Israeli flag.

"Of course I'm here, how could I not!" he reportedly answered when asked about his attendance at the rally.

While Fetterman didn't speak at the event, other lawmakers did take the stage and offered support for Israel. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) addressed the crowd. So did House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA).

Fetterman has surprised many by taking an outspoken stance in support of Israel following the beginning of hostilities in Gaza on Oct. 7. His stance contrasts that of many of his progressive allies in Congress. Despite withering support from his progressive supporters, Fetterman has responded by doubling down on his stance.

Last month, the senator put up posters of every person kidnapped by Hamas on Oct. 7, which he pledged to keep up until they are all released.

Fetterman has explicitly pushed against calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, saying that one should not be pursued until Hamas is destroyed.

"Now is not the time to talk about a ceasefire. We must support Israel in efforts to eliminate the Hamas terrorists who slaughtered innocent men, women, and children," he said in an Oct. 18 post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. "Hamas does not want peace, they want to destroy Israel. We can talk about a ceasefire after Hamas is neutralized."
