Former national security adviser John Bolton bashed the Biden administration for its Gaza ceasefire proposal.

In an appearance on WABC 770 AM’s The Cats Roundtable, Bolton told host John Catsimatidis that the proposal showed weakness and was harmful to Israel.

“We saw on Friday something almost unimaginable in the U.N. Security Council. The Biden administration had proposed a resolution, really, very detrimental to Israel and its efforts to defeat the Hamas terrorists,” Bolton said.

He argued that the ceasefire was what “the Europeans wanted, it’s what Hamas wanted,” as it wasn’t “linked to an agreement to exchange hostages.”

Bolton also claimed that the proposal signaled weakness to the Russians and Chinese.

“The U.S. this, a real slap at Israel, and … that resolution was vetoed by China and Russia, which is just a slap in the face of the Biden administration,” he said.

The veto by Russia and China, Bolton argued, showed that the two countries “view Biden as weak and ineffective and they’re showing Biden can’t get out of his own way.”

The ceasefire proposal put forward by the Biden administration would enact a ceasefire in exchange for the release of the hostages taken by Hamas on Oct. 7, along with a condemnation of the group.

Russia, China, and a host of other nations rejected the proposal, claiming it was one-sided and didn’t properly hold Israel accountable.
