Podcast host Joe Rogan speculated that Democrats may be facilitating the release of information damaging to President Joe Biden in a bid to remove him from the party's 2024 presidential ticket and replace him with someone more popular.
Concerns over the Biden family's business connections have been a major talking point with conservative lawmakers, with the House Oversight Committee releasing bank memos last week showing that the president's son, Hunter Biden, and his associates made $20 million from foreign business dealings. Rogan, the host of The Joe Rogan Experience and an "armchair conspiracy theorist," stated in his latest episode that recent controversies surrounding Biden and his family are being intentionally released "slowly but surely" to affect Biden's chances of reelection in 2024.

"If I had to guess, I would say that all this stuff that's coming out slowly but surely about Biden is on purpose, and they want to get rid of him," Rogan said on his podcast. "I think he wants to run again, and I don't think the Democrats think that he can win. I think they're right, and I think they're going to slowly but surely expose more of these very clear pieces of evidence of corruption."
Rogan described the payment to the Biden family as "f****** bananas" and noted that the story was not being promoted by the "mainstream news," adding that "you know they would be if it was Trump."
Rogan's hypothesis on Biden and the Democratic Party comes as two other Democratic candidates, Marianne Williamson and Robert Kennedy Jr., are both running against Biden in the 2024 Democratic primary election. Earlier this month, a new poll found that half of Democratic primary voters believe that Biden should not be the party's candidate in 2024 and that Democrats should nominate someone else.
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) has been considered by many to be a potential candidate for the Democratic Party, though Newsom himself has repeatedly denied that he will run for president next year. The governor visited several red states on and around the Fourth of July this year to support Biden, though many observers noted his activities looked eerily similar to a shadow campaign of his own.

Former President Donald Trump is still in the lead in the Republican Party's primary race for 2024, with his closest competitor, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), now trailing far behind. The former president leads DeSantis 57% to 18%, with Vivek Ramaswamy in third place with 5%, former Vice President Mike Pence at 4%, and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie all tied with 3%, according to new polling data.
Earlier this year, Rogan stated that he would vote for Trump over Biden if the 2024 presidential election is a rematch between the two. In 2022, Rogan stated he would support DeSantis as president in 2024.
