Jimmy Kimmel is set to host the 2023 Academy Awards and said he just wants “to be ready for anything.”
"There are only two ways to prepare for the Oscar broadcast. One is to write a ton of jokes," Kimmel recently said. "And the other is to try and fit into your tuxedo. So I've been writing and starving."

The 95th Academy Awards will be Kimmel’s third time hosting the ceremony. The broadcast, however, will be the first show since Will Smith infamously slapped then-host Chris Rock over a joke made about Jada Pinkett Smith.
“I think you just want to be ready for anything," Kimmel said. "And you never, obviously, don't know when something crazy might happen. And crazy things seem to be happening a lot lately. So I just want the opportunity, if something crazy happens, to be able to be onstage to comment on said crazy thing."
