Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel turned down Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's (R-GA) proposal to appear on his show to promote her new book.
Kimmel made the comment on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday evening, a few days after Greene posted on social media to ask for an invite to appear on his show, as she said most of Kimmel's show's content is "nonstop lies about me." The Georgia lawmaker added that she would bring a copy of her new book, MTG, and would discuss on the show "what needs to happen to SAVE AMERICA!"

Hey @jimmykimmel since most of your show content is your nonstop lies about me, why don’t you have me on your show?

I’ll bring you a copy of my book and we can chat about what needs to happen to SAVE AMERICA! https://t.co/nkH9v67hpo pic.twitter.com/b3v9ec0uhv
"I guess I'm a Hollywood libtard that's part of the celebrity pedophile Satan club until she has a book to promote," Kimmel said. "Then I'd love to swing by!"
Kimmel recalled that Greene had called the Capitol Police in 2022 after the late-night host suggested actor Will Smith should slap the congresswoman, with Greene alleging that Kimmel's joke was tantamount to a "threat of violence." Kimmel's joke was a reference to the infamous Oscar slap that took place in March 2022 when Smith slapped host Chris Rock.
The late-night host went on to discuss Greene's book, which was released on Nov. 21. Kimmel said he went to check how well the book was selling, and found that it was ranked No. 9,846 on Amazon's bestselling book list and No. 65 on Amazon's bestselling books for women's biographies.
"Marjorie Taylor Greene's book is such a bomb, I might have to report it to the Capitol Police," Kimmel joked.

Kimmel's show returned last month after the writers' strike in Hollywood ended in late September, with a multitude of other late-night hosts resuming their shows. Kimmel was also among five hosts who created a podcast titled Strike Force Five, which intended to raise money for their striking writing staff.
The podcast was largely ridiculed online, with one person describing it as "group therapy" for Democrats.
