Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) has declared his support for former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, saying he is "100%" in support of Trump.

Jordan's announcement came ahead of a speech he delivered to the National Rifle Association convention on Friday, where Trump also spoke. The endorsement from Jordan, a longtime ally of the former president, comes as the 2024 presidential election cycle begins to heat up, with several prominent Republicans declaring whether they will run in the next election.

"No one has demonstrated that they will do what they said and get things done like he did, and he did it with everyone in that town against him. And that's what I still respect about President Trump, and I'm for him all the way," Jordan told Fox News Digital.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) threw his support to the former president on Friday, April 14, 2023, as former President Donald Trump seeks the presidency again in the 2024 election.

Trump is seeking the Republican nomination for the 2024 election against several other Republican candidates, including former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former Vice President Mike Pence have not yet announced their candidacy but are also seen as strong contenders.

While Jordan has thrown his support for Trump, he added that he "liked" all the current and potential candidates and is "friends" with each of them.

"I just talked to Vice President Pence. Great guy … Gov. DeSantis, a great guy," said Jordan. "When we formed the Freedom Caucus, there were nine of us. He was one of the nine. But I am 100% for President Trump."

On Friday, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that he is not seeking the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. Pompeo said his decision not to run was a "personal" one, and he will remain focused on roles that he has already occupied as a business leader and Bible school teacher.

President Joe Biden told the press during the annual White House Easter egg roll that he plans on running for reelection but added, "We’re just not prepared to announce it yet."
