Former CNN White House Correspondent Jim Acosta told Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) that he fears she could be arrested by agents of President Donald Trump, given her opposition to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
“It’s not America when ICE agents can show up in masks, sweep people up off the street, send them out of the country without due process, put them in these facilities,” Acosta said on a recent episode of The Jim Acosta Show.

The scuffles that have arisen from Democrats arriving at ICE detention centers make Acosta worried that left-wing lawmakers, such as Crockett, could be taken into custody, he said.
“Of course, they would like to arrest you and some of the others who are more outspoken in the House,” Acosta said.
Crockett appeared to share Acosta’s sentiment.
“You’re absolutely right because my deputy chief, who’s quite young, still has his grandmother … I had to go to El Paso to testify in federal court as it relates to the redistricting that was done in 2020 in the state of Texas, and his grandmother did not know why we we’re going to El Paso,” Crockett said.
“She thought we were going to a detention facility,” she added. “So, she said, ‘I don’t know about Jasmine going, cause you know they want to lock her up, and they probably gonna grab her and throw her in, too.'”

It is said that people are to be fearful of being arrested, according to Crockett.
“They are looking at people like me and [are] really scared because they know there is a target on my back when you have the president of the United States who consistently drops my name,” she said.
