A 30-year-old grandson of John F. Kennedy endorsed President Joe Biden for president in 2024 on Friday instead of his cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr., calling his relative's bid for the Democratic nomination an "embarrassment" and "vanity project."
Jack Schlossberg, who is the son of the late president's daughter and United States Ambassador to Australia Caroline Kennedy, said Biden shared his grandfather's "vision" for the U.S. and is in the middle of becoming "the greatest progressive president" in U.S. history.

“President John F. Kennedy is my grandfather. And his legacy is important,” Schlossberg said in an Instagram video. “It’s about a lot more than Camelot and conspiracy theories. It’s about public service and courage. [The president] shares my grandfather’s vision for America: that we do things not because they are easy, but because they are hard.”
Schlossberg cited Biden's work on the economy, green energy policies, infrastructure, and ending the COVID-19 pandemic as "issues that mattered" and which Biden delivered on. Schlossberg claimed that if his cousin cared about those issues, then he should support the president.
“Instead, he’s trading in on Camelot, celebrity conspiracy theories, and conflict for personal gain and fame," Schlossberg said. “I’ve listened to him. I know him. I have no idea why anyone thinks he should be president. What I do know is his candidacy is an embarrassment. Let’s not be distracted, again, by somebody’s vanity project."

Schlossberg's criticism is the latest in a slew of relatives to condemn RFK Jr.'s bid after the New York Post revealed audio of the candidate claiming that COVID-19 could have been ethnically targeted. RFK Jr.'s sister, Kerry Kennedy, slammed the remarks on Monday, calling her brother's comments "deplorable."
"I strongly condemn my brother's deplorable and untruthful remarks last week about Covid being engineered for ethnic targeting," Kerry Kennedy said. "His statements do not represent what I believe or what Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights stand for, with our 50+-year track record of protecting rights and standing against racism and all forms of discrimination."
