James Van Der Beek took aim at the Democratic National Committee, slamming it for not holding primary debates ahead of the 2024 presidential contest.
The actor, known best for starring in the teen drama Dawson's Creek, claimed that President Joe Biden has "declining mental faculties."
"There's no debate over an 80-year-old man who, if he lives, will be the oldest sitting president in the history of the country? And if he doesn't live, has a vice president whose approval rating is worse than his?" he asked in a TikTok video.
Notably, Vice President Kamala Harris has an approval rating of only 37.8%, while Biden maintains 41.5%, according to FiveThirtyEight. As the actor references, Harris would succeed Biden were he to die in office.

"You're telling us there's no debate. What about the will of the people?" he questioned. "What about the will of the people who voted for the guy last time because, of those people, 72% think there ought to be a debate?"
It's unclear where Van Der Beek's statistic comes from. However, some polls have shown a desire from Democratic voters for the party to hold primary debates.
In the Memorial Day weekend message, the actor urged DNC leaders against posting messages of gratitude to service members while simultaneously refusing to hold debates. "There are people out there who are willing to die to preserve democracy. You are not preserving democracy right now. You shoehorning your candidate and forcing it on the rest of us," he said.
He further brushed off claims that the other candidates, Marianne Williamson and Robert Kennedy Jr., are not serious. "One of them is polling at 7%. The other one is at 19%," Van Der Beek said. "That is a quarter of the vote who already thinks there is at the very least some debate about who ought to be president."
Williamson and Kennedy Jr. are polling at 8% and 20%, respectively, according to the latest data from CNN. Biden earned 60% in the same poll.

"There's no debate. There's no democracy. No primary. No legitimate president," he continued.
The video earned more than 50,000 likes on TikTok, but the actor disabled the commenting feature. He said he did this "because the people who should be debating are the candidates."
