Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) may be in for a tougher race than she bargained for after Republican challenger Sam Brown nearly doubled his fundraising numbers over last quarter’s haul.

Brown is running to flip Rosen’s seat red this November. This week, reports revealed he raked in more than $4 million between April and June, making this the Republican’s best fundraising quarter yet.

The Democratic Party is rushing to shut down Republican gains in battleground Nevada as former President Donald Trump expands his lead over President Joe Biden. The latest polling shows Trump winning the swing state by nearly 5 percentage points. Four years ago, President Joe Biden won Nevada by more than 2 points.

In the Senate race between Rosen and Brown, the Democratic incumbent still holds a significant fundraising edge over her challenger. Rosen raised $7.6 million during 2024’s second quarter. However, Brown has made wide gains over his Republican predecessors. In 2022, Adam Laxalt raised only $2.7 million during his second quarter as he battled with Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV).

Polling covering the high-stakes Senate race shows divergent numbers. Rosen’s lead over Brown appears to be as low as 2 points and as high as 12. In May, the Brown campaign touted a New York Times poll showing the two tied.
