Twitter founder Jack Dorsey called for a Democratic Party primary debate following the footage of President Joe Biden falling at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

"Open the Democrat primaries and debates," Dorsey captioned the video of the fall. "This isn’t fair to anyone."

Biden, 80, was helped immediately by Air Force officials and Secret Service and stood back up quickly. As the president was stood back up, he pointed to a black sandbag where he had stumbled and fallen, then walked off of the stage on his own.

Dorsey's call for an open primary came the day after actor James Van Der Beek slammed the Democratic National Convention for not holding primary debates ahead of the 2024 presidential contest. Van Der Beek shared his opinion on TikTok.

"There's no debate over an 80-year-old man who, if he lives, will be the oldest sitting president in the history of the country? And if he doesn't live, has a vice president whose approval rating is worse than his?" the actor asked.

As Twitter CEO, Dorsey incorporated a ban on political ads in 2019 when he stated political ads should be "earned, not bought."

White House Communications Director Ben LaBolt tweeted that Biden is "fine" and again pointed to the sandbag onstage.
