Israel’s ambassador to the United States said Friday that his nation’s operation against Iran will be completed with the “elimination” of the Fordow enrichment facility.
“This entire operation really has to be completed with the elimination of Fordow,” Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter told Fox News’s America’s Newsroom. “Fordow is the main site, deep, deep, deep underground, which is where the enriched uranium and the weapons are put together, coupled, and poses the greatest danger.”

Israel launched a series of strikes against Iran with the aim of eliminating the Islamic nation’s ballistic missile capabilities and decapitating its military leadership.
Missile sites, nuclear facilities, military command-and-control centers, and the apartments of military leaders and nuclear scientists were all struck, killing top Iranian leaders, including Gen. Hossein Salami, the chief commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and multiple nuclear scientists.
“The top brass of the IRGC, that’s the terrorist wing of the military that sponsors international terrorism, their leadership has been taken out almost entirely,” according to Leiter. “Many of the top brass in the army itself have been taken out, and the infrastructure at the site of Natanz, which is the first site for the production of weapons-grade uranium, has been destroyed, we believe, almost entirely.”
The ambassador said attack analysis is underway, and more strikes may be required.
“I think that when the dust settles, you’ll find that the beeper operation in Lebanon and the drone operation of Ukraine and Russia pales to the genius of the implementation of this operation.”
Fordow represents the most protected site, and Leiter hopes that the Iranian regime will open it up for dismantling, he added.
“If not, we’re committed to seeing this entire operation through,” he said. “We are not going to allow the Iranian regime that is intent on eradicating the state of Israel to achieve massive ballistic missile quantity and the ability to parrot with a nuclear bomb.”
Leiter invoked the memory of the Holocaust to bolster his nation’s mission.
“Ninety years ago, there was somebody who said that he’s gonna exterminate the Jewish people. We didn’t have a state. We didn’t have an army. There was nothing we could do about it, and nobody else lifted a finger to protect us,” he said.
“We lost a third of our people, six million people. Now, we have a new Hitler saying that he’s going to destroy the state of Israel.”
ISRAEL LAUNCHES MAJOR ATTACK ON IRAN OVER ITS NUCLEAR PROGRAM: WHAT TO KNOW
There is a watch with a countdown to the destruction of Israel in the center of Tehran that Iranian people see every day, Leiter continued.
“This is what this government of lunatics in Tehran is actually propagating,” he said. “So, we’re not gonna let it happen. We want to live. We want to live in peace, but peace of life, not peace of death.”
