Issam Abdallah, a videographer for Reuters, has been killed in Lebanon during Israel's conflict with Hamas.
Reuters was performing a livestream on YouTube Friday facilitated by Abdallah near the border of Lebanon and Southern Israel. The video captured the moment missiles struck the area near the village of Alma al-Shaab and has since been removed by Reuters "due to graphic content."
HAMAS TELLS CIVILIANS TO IGNORE ISRAEL'S EVACUATION WARNING
"We are deeply saddened to learn that our videographer, Issam Abdallah, has been killed," Reuters said in a statement. "We are urgently seeking more information, working with authorities in the region, and supporting Issam's family and colleagues. Reuters journalists Thaer Al-Sudani and Maher Nazeh also sustained injuries and are seeking medical care. Our thoughts are with their families at this terrible time."
Additionally, four other reporters were injured in the attack from other international outlets also providing a live signal of the missiles firing out of Israel.
On Saturday, Abdallah's hometown of Khiam, Lebanon, held a funeral service for him. His body was wrapped in the Lebanese flag, and mourners carried it aloft for a funeral procession through the town.
"We are aware of the incident with the Reuters journalist," Israeli army spokesman Lt Col Richard Hecht said during a press briefing. "We are looking into it. We already have visuals. We're doing cross-examination. It's a tragic thing."

This comes after Hamas fired thousands of rockets and also sent dozens of fighters into Israel almost a week ago on Simchat Torah, a Jewish holiday celebrating the annual cycle of the Torah scroll reading. During the conflict between Hamas and Israel, some 2,900 have died, among them 27 American citizens. There are also more likely to be among the 150 taken hostage.
Abdallah had worked for Reuters for more than 16 years.
