2024 presidential candidate Nikki Haley said that Arab countries should step up and offer aid to Palestinians attempting to evacuate from the Gaza Strip as the war in Israel continues.
Haley, who served as the United States ambassador to the United Nations, said Arab countries like Egypt, Lebanon, Qatar, and Jordan have the ability to "go in and tell Hamas right now to stop what they're doing."

"They have the ability to tell Hamas to let those people out, but you know what, Qatar is going to continue to work with Hamas and their leadership, or Iran's gonna continue to fund all of this and not say anything, and whose silent?" Haley said. "Every one of those Arab countries are going to be silent, but expect for the finger to point to Israel, and the finger's gonna point to America."
Hamas, a Palestinian militant group named a terrorist organization by the U.S., attacked Israel early on Oct. 7 in the largest assault on Jewish people since the Holocaust. So far, the death toll is over 1,300 Israelis and more than 2,200 on the Gaza side.
Over one million people in the northern Gaza Strip have been ordered to evacuate to the south. However, Haley said that the Arab countries "aren't doing anything" to help Palestinians seeking to flee the Gaza Strip because they don't know who to trust.
"The Arab countries aren't doing anything to help the Palestinians because they don't trust who is right, who is good, who is evil, and they don't want it in their country," Haley said. "So, they're gonna come and blame America, they're gonna going to come and blame Israel, and don't fall for it — because they have the ability to fix all of this if they wanted to."

Haley also dismissed former President Donald Trump's recent comments praising Hezbollah as "smart," criticizing Israel's defense minister, and complimenting the Chinese Communist Party, stating that it is time for a new generational leader.

"We've got to get past the headlines of the past," Haley said. "I can tell you at the United Nations when I was there, and I dealt with all of them every day, you don't go around and compliment any of them. Because what that does is that makes America look weak. It doesn't make America look strong."
"This isn't about Trump. It's not about him. It's not about what happened in the past," Haley added. "We've got to look forward. It's going to be tough days ahead for everyone involved."
