NextImg:Israel is right to ban the United Nations - Washington Examiner

Israel has banned the United Nations Relief and Works Agency from operating within its borders because it has rightly concluded that it doesn’t need to cooperate with an agency that sympathizes with and employs terrorists who want to kill Israeli civilians.

The UNRWA has a long history of employing terrorists and openly telling people that it doesn’t care that it probably employs terrorists. Sure enough, multiple UNRWA employees took part in the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks against Israel that killed 1,200 civilians, and Israel recently killed Fateh Sherif Abu el Amin, a Hamas commander in Lebanon, who had been employed by the UNRWA up until a suspension in March. In the aftermath of the Oct. 7 attacks, it was also revealed that the UNRWA’s headquarters in Gaza was housing a Hamas military compound underneath it.

The UNRWA has pleaded ignorance about all of this, expecting everyone to believe that it is somehow just a coincidence that UNRWA keeps attracting Palestinian terrorists and that no one could reasonably have deduced that all of these terrorists were working for or underneath the UNRWA all this time. Except the UNRWA’s leader in 2004, who said he was “sure” that the UNRWA was paying terrorists and that it wasn’t seen as a crime.

The UNRWA and the United Nations have whined and complained about Israel’s ban, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed that “we stand ready to work with our international partners to ensure Israel continues to facilitate humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza in a way that does not threaten Israel’s security.”

Israel can continue to ensure the delivery of aid to Gaza without letting UNRWA employees in Israel’s borders, because the UNRWA, much like the rest of the United Nations, is an incompetent money hole that exists to perpetuate the conflict it professes to be working to end so that all the useless people it employs can continue to get paid. If the UNRWA can’t or won’t put any effort into dissociating itself from terrorists, whom it insists have generational refugee status, there is no reason for Israel to allow it to operate in the country.

The United Nations is an incompetent, useless leech that funds its bloated bureaucracy with taxpayer money from countries that buy into self-perpetuating shams such as the UNRWA. Israel recognizes that the UNRWA isn’t needed and is only making the situation in Gaza and Israel worse. The rest of the world should recognize that the same is true for the whole of the United Nations.
