Investigators took a knife, cellphone, and other items from murder suspect Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of fatally stabbing four University of Idaho students last November.
Police seized several items when they conducted their search of Kohberger's Pennsylvania home when they arrested him on Dec. 30, after a monthslong search for the killer of Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Ethan Chapin, 20, and Xana Kernodle, 20.
Several court documents were released revealing that investigators took a number of items as evidence, including several weapons: a knife, pocket knife, and a Glock handgun with three magazines.
A knife sheath was found near Mogen's body, and DNA taken from the sheath matched Kohberger's, police said in their arrest affidavit.
A black hat and black masks were taken, as well as a number of items from his car: a door panel, seat cushions, headrests, seatbelt, visor, brake and gas pedals, a band-aid, "maps and documents," and other items.
One of the surviving victims told police that she saw a figure dressed in black clothing, hat, and mask leaving her home on the night of the murders. Her description of the figure's face also matched Kohberger's.
Police also collected a buccal swab from Kohberger, as well as medical-style gloves and black clothing items, such as a Champion sweatshirt and Under Armour socks, and boxers, according to court documents released on Tuesday.
Kohberger, 28, was a graduate student at Washington State University, from which he was fired as a teaching assistant after the murders. Prior to the students' deaths, he was called in to speak with faculty for allegations that he was interacting inappropriately with female students.
An anonymous source said photos of one of the female victims were discovered on Kohberger's phone when they confiscated it.
