EXCLUSIVE — Conservative commentator Tomi Lahren called the news that Hunter Biden will plead guilty to federal charges “a lot of smoke and mirrors.”
The Justice Department announced on Tuesday morning that it had reached a deal with President Joe Biden’s son related to tax crimes and the purchase of a handgun while he was a drug user.

“If this isn’t an example of a two-tiered system of justice, I don’t know what is. The fact that this is what they’ve come up with,” Lahren told the Washington Examiner. “That’s not what we care about, and we don’t even care about necessarily Hunter taking money from foreign entities. We care how this ties back to the Oval Office and then previously the vice presidency.”
“This feels like this is a lot of smoke and mirrors,” she added. “But it’s still a nothing-burger, and the investigation continues into ‘the Big Guy.”’
Lahren said she sees the plea deal as a way for the Democratic Party and DOJ to push back at Republican criticism concerning charges brought against former President Donald Trump.
The Outkick host also noted that the plea deal is likely to serve as a distraction from additional information coming from the House Oversight Committee’s investigations that allege a “criminal bribery scheme” between Biden and “foreign national” Mykola Zlochevsky, the Ukrainian owner of Burisma.
“I think, to me, the most frustrating part is that James Comer, Jim Jordan, and Oversight [Committee], they have put forth so much evidence saying, ‘Look, guys. It's quite obvious here that Joe Biden has something to do with this,' and the mainstream media turns the other cheek,” Lahren said. “If Joe Biden has been, in fact, engaged in pay-to-play bribery schemes for the last nine to 10 years, the implications of that are really damaging, and I'm disappointed that the American people don't understand that better.”

Tuesday marks one year since Lahren debuted her Tomi Lahren is Fearless show on the digital streaming platform Outkick. Lahren said she most values the ability to connect with young conservatives in a digital space.
“I think that's been one of the greatest accomplishments that I've had, especially with this Outkick show, is just bringing in a new demographic into the political fold,” Lahren said.
