Former Assistant FBI Director Chris Swecker said news of a Hunter Biden legal team member reportedly pretending to be a Republican attorney while placing a call on Tuesday to ask that IRS whistleblower testimony be stricken from the docket would be a “clear case for disbarment.”

The call was placed the night before President Joe Biden’s son is expected to plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax offenses and then enter a pretrial diversion program in order to avoid prison time on a felony gun charge.

“It’s starting to read like a Grisham novel, isn’t it? Apparently, his attorneys have about the same ethics standards as he does,” Swecker told Jesse Watters Primetime. "I think this is a clear case for disbarment of the attorney. If the judge lets him off on this, it just falls in line with everything else that has been happening in the Hunter Biden case. This is egregious, Jesse. This cannot stand.”

Swecker said as a result of the phone call, Hunter Biden’s sentencing could be delayed.

“I think the timing of the plea deal is probably in jeopardy. I would not be surprised at all if the judge put off the sentencing,” the former assistant FBI director said. “I think the odds are that we won’t see a sentencing tomorrow.”

“The Hunter team obviously feared what was going to go in front of the judge in terms of the whistle-blower information to the point where they were willing to do what they did,” he added. “So, that means that they believe [the judge] would take it into consideration. This case is changing every day.”

Biden's legal team had until 9 p.m. on Tuesday to explain their position regarding the phone call.

Hunter Biden is set to appear at the federal court in Wilmington, Delaware, on Wednesday morning where U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika will decide whether to accept his plea deal amid new IRS whistleblower allegations concerning preferential treatment given to the president’s son.

“We’re now to the point where I think it’s a mountain of evidence against not just Hunter but Joe as well,” Swecker said.

Swecker noted that when he led criminal investigations with the FBI, indictments were routinely made with a lot less evidence than what the House Oversight Committee has presented:

“There should have already been a parade of witnesses going into the grand jury and a line around the corner.”
