Screens in the Department of Housing and Urban Development appeared hacked Monday, displaying the message “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING” on top of an artificial intelligence video of President Donald Trump kissing and sucking his billionaire adviser Elon Musk’s toes.
The video on the screens was posted on social media Monday morning. It is not known who was behind the apparent hack.
“Another waste of taxpayer dollars and resources. Appropriate action will be taken for all involved,” HUD spokeswoman Kasey Lovett said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. She did not explain how these images were a waste of taxpayer dollars or resources when asked to clarify.
The video’s text was likely a reference to a recent Trump post in which he referred to himself as a king.
“LONG LIVE THE KING!” Trump wrote in a post on his social media platform Truth Social regarding his administration’s moves to ax New York City’s conjunction pricing model.
Musk has grown increasingly influential in the Trump administration, recently appearing in the Oval Office over Trump’s shoulder to take questions from the press. Some Democrats have declared that Musk is the president rather than Trump in hopes the message will take hold with Trump.
“At least we know who’s in charge. He’s president, and Trump is now vice president,” Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) said in December 2024. Similarly, Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) posted on social media, “Welcome to the Elon Musk presidency.”
Some believe Trump and Musk will eventually have a falling out, citing the constant turnover of officials in the first Trump administration as evidence that it will be inevitable. Musk and Trump recently rejected these claims when speaking with Fox News’s Sean Hannity.

“I love the president,” Musk said in an interview with Trump by his side. “I just want to be clear about that.”
Trump additionally described Musk throughout the interview as “a great person,” “an amazing person,” “a caring person,” and “a brilliant guy.”
