The first presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump is set to take place tonight on CNN.

CNN anchors Dana Bash and Jake Tapper will moderate the debate in the network’s Atlanta, Georgia, studio.

CNN will broadcast the debate on CNN, CNN International, and CNN en Espanol. The debate can also be watched live on CNN.com. CNN is also partnering with the streaming service Max, formerly HBO Max, and the debate can be streamed there.

CNN can also be accessed by any cable provider, YouTube TV, FuboTV, or Hulu + Live TV.

Other large networks like ABC, CBS, Fox News, and NBC/MSNBC will simulcast the debate on their own networks. CNN and other TV networks will have live analysis of the debate immediately following its conclusion.

The debate will begin at 9 p.m. Eastern time or 6 p.m. Pacific time. It is 90 minutes long and will include two commercial breaks.

Some of the rules this year are different from previous years. Both candidates will not be able to use notes, cannot consult with aides during breaks, and will have muted microphones. Both men will only be allowed to have pen, paper, and a bottle of water at their podium. There will also not be a live audience.

Both campaigns have accepted the rules of the CNN debate.

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. did not meet the standards outlined by CNN to qualify for the debate stage. Kennedy would need to be on enough ballots to receive the winning 270 electoral votes and have polled at least 15% in four national polls, which he has not done.

The next presidential debate will take place on Sept. 10 on ABC.

The vice presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and Trump’s currently unknown running mate will take place on July 23 or Aug. 13 and will be hosted by CBS News.
