The House Oversight Committee has set dates to interview five more top aides of former President Joe Biden on the “cover-up” of his mental decline and use of an autopen

The committee set the five interviews from July 24 through Aug. 7 with White House aides who will appear voluntarily for transcribed interviews.

Former chief of staff Ron Klain will appear July 24, former counselor to the president Steve Ricchetti will sit for an interview on July 30, former senior adviser to the president Mike Donilon on July 31, former deputy chief of staff for policy Bruce Reed on Aug. 5, and former senior adviser to the president for communications Anita Dunn on Aug. 7.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) subpoenaed Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, to appear for a deposition on July 9 and former Jill Biden aide Anthony Bernal to appear on July 16. Bernal’s subpoena comes after he refused to appear before the committee last Thursday to testify as part of the committee’s investigation, following the White House telling the witnesses they were not protected by executive privilege.

The committee has expanded its investigation, which focuses on whether Biden was fit for office and whether his aides abused his autopen signature to conduct official business without his consent. The committee requested additional aides to appear for transcribed interviews, including former Biden communication aides Karine Jean-Pierre, Ian Sams, Andrew Bates, and former chief of staff Jeff Zients. These dates have not yet been set.

“The cover-up of President Biden’s obvious mental decline is a historic scandal,” Comer said in the press release last month. “The American people deserve to know when this decline began, how far it progressed, and who was making critical decisions on his behalf. Key executive actions signed by autopen, such as sweeping pardons for the Biden Crime Family, must be examined considering President Biden’s diminished capacity.”

The first witness, Neera Tanden, testified behind closed doors before the Oversight Committee last month and was not protected by executive privilege. Executive privilege allows the witness to withhold information from Congress to protect the integrity of the executive branch. The rest of the witnesses will also be denied the same protections as the investigation moves forward.

TRUMP’S ‘BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL’ BACK IN HOUSE AS GOP SCRAMBLES TO MEET JULY 4 DEADLINE

Ashley Williams, former special assistant to the president and deputy director of Oval Office operations, is set to appear for her closed-door interview on July 11, and Annie Tomasini, the former assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff, is set for July 18.

Following the release of Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s book Original Sin, Republicans have leaned into the former president’s use of an autopen for pardons and executive orders, along with an investigation into the “cover-up” of his “mental decline.” The chairman called this a “historic scandal.”
