Residents of Scranton, Pennsylvania, are harboring deep concerns about President Joe Biden's economic policy, despite his hometown roots.
Biden has spent a significant amount of time campaigning in swing-state Pennsylvania, which was pivotal to his presidential win in 2020. However, several Scranton residents spoke to Fox News Digital, telling the outlet they are disappointed in Bidenomics.

"This economy sucks. I mean, everything's going up except paychecks. I just think the economy sucks ever since Biden got in," Robert Jones of Scranton said, adding that Biden is the "worst president we ever had” and telling Fox News Digital he favors former President Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential candidate.
Voters' negative perceptions about the economy are evident in record-low poll numbers for Biden recently. Since Biden took office, Gallup has polled the president’s economy rankings 10 times. His current rating on the economy is only 1 percentage point higher than his lowest in 2022, with disapproval at 67% as of November.
“I don’t look at the economy through the eyes of Wall Street and Park Avenue. I look at it through the eyes of the people I grew up with in Scranton, Pennsylvania or Claymont, Delaware,” Biden said to United Auto Workers at the Community Building Complex in Illinois in November, later posting the quote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Biden has been lauded as being a pro-worker and pro-union president, but his economic plan, aiming to benefit the working class, is not always a home-run with all Democrats.
"I don't think any of them see through the eyes of the people. I think all of them see it through the eyes of Washington," local resident Kevin told the outlet. "[The economy] has gotten worse,” he said while adding he has yet to decide who to vote for in the 2024 election. “I'm a registered Democrat, but I'm not happy.”
