Incoming “border czar” Tom Homan has vowed to “change” the perception that Democrats have on police officers and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, assuring they will no longer be seen as “the bad guys” simply for enforcing the law.

Homan appeared on Dr. Phil Primetime to lay out President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to secure the southern border and deport illegal immigrants, which will also include locating 300,000 children who have gone missing amid the border crisis. During Dr. Phil’s interview with the incoming border czar, he noted how Homan has claimed “the left media” portrays him as “the bad guy,” to which the host was perplexed and asked, “How are you the bad guy?”

“You know, I grew up in a family full of cops. My grandfather was a cop, my dad was a cop, and we’re in a situation now where the left thinks those who enforce laws are the bad guys and those who broke the law are the victims. Well, we’re going to change that after Jan. 20,” Homan said, drawing applause from the show’s live audience.

Homan also issued a direct warning to members of the Tren de Aragua Venezuelan gang in Aurora, Colorado, where there is “absolutely” a gang problem, but that this gang will have an even bigger problem come Jan. 20 “because my gang’s bigger than their gang.” When Dr. Phil asked what moves could be expected by this gang next month, Homan predicted some gang members would scatter while others would be “a problem,” warning these gang members “are heavily armed people.”

The incoming border czar also expressed frustration over Democrats and other lawmakers opposing Trump’s proposed deportations, arguing protecting the United States “should be a non-partisan issue.” He cited how “a quarter million” people have died from the lack of border security, as well as the risk of terrorism that the border has opened the U.S. to, should get all lawmakers on board with Trump’s plans to deport criminals and public safety threats.

“I’ve seen so many tragedies in my lifetime; some of these still keep me up at night,” Homan said. “While you and I are talking right now, women are being raped by criminal cartels on the border. While we’re talking right now, a child will die tonight, and I’m done with it! I’m sick of it. Secure borders save lives, and I can’t wait till Jan. 20 when President Trump is back in power and we secure this border!”

Part 2 of Homan’s interview with Dr. Phil will air on Tuesday night at 8 p.m.

Among the Democrats who have objected to Trump’s proposed deportations is Mayor Mike Johnston of Denver, Colorado, to which Homan has warned that he is willing to put the mayor in jail over his resistance. In discussing this opposition with Dr. Phil, Homan reiterated his warning that those who do not wish to help the Trump administration with its deportations need to “get the hell out of the way.”

Homan is scheduled to meet with New York City Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, on Thursday, with the mayor stating that the city “went too far by not cooperating with ICE.” He has also said he wants “people to talk to each other” and would not be “warring” with the incoming administration.
