Former Democratic National Committee Vice Chairman David Hogg said Wednesday at the Hill Nation Summit that he “will be vindicated in four years” after Democrats removed him from his seat.

Hogg left the DNC after his election was vacated over a procedural rule on gender diversity. He stirred controversy within the party after calling for primary challengers to help vote out Democratic incumbents.

He started his own PAC, Leaders We Deserve, to do just that.

Hogg called out the controversy as a “double standard that was selectively enforced.”

“I would argue that what I’m doing is not that different from someone having a leadership PAC that gives against an incumbent,” he added.

The 25-year-old Hogg thinks the Democratic Party lacks the “courage to do bold things” and support for “competition.”

He said he’s still willing to work with the DNC, an organization that elected Ken Martin to head it in February after President Donald Trump won the White House and Republicans held down Congress.

Hogg has backed young liberal political hopefuls like New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani and Arizona congressional candidate Deja Foxx. The 25-year-old Foxx decisively lost by more than 40 points on Tuesday in a special election to fill former Rep. Raúl Grijalva’s seat after his death in March.

Mamdani has had better luck. He’s in a good position to win New York City’s top office after capturing the Democratic nomination. His chief competition will be old rival former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is running as an independent, incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, and Republican Curtis Sliwa.

Hogg called out racist attacks on Mamdani on Wednesday. “A lot of stuff that I think is very, you know, racist,” Hogg said of certain criticisms of Mamdani. “A lot of times it wasn’t even focused on his actual policy; it was more focused on him and his identity.”

Mamdani, who is Muslim, has faced attacks on his identity, statements critical of Israel, and his plans to make buses and child care free, along with enacting government-run grocery stores.
