NextImg:Harris rakes in significant support from group of venture capitalists - Washington Examiner

Roughly 200 venture capitalists pledged support to Vice President Kamala Harris, as the industry warms up to former President Donald Trump.

The group published their letter of support on their new website, VCs for Kamala. Among the signatories are entrepreneur Mark Cuban, LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, and Silicon Valley “super angel” investor Ron Conway.

“We spend our days looking for, investing in and supporting entrepreneurs who are building the future,” the letter reads. “We are pro-business, pro-American dream, pro-entrepreneurship, and pro-technological progress.

“We also believe in democracy as the backbone of our nation,” it continues. “We believe that strong, trustworthy institutions are a feature, not a bug, and that our industry – and every other industry – would collapse without them. That is what’s at stake in this election. Everything else, we can solve through constructive dialogue with political leaders and institutions willing to talk to us.”

A similar group, Tech for Kamala, expressed its support earlier this week, boasting 550 signatures.

The efforts come as a counter to a number of tech giants who have thrown their support behind former President Donald Trump in recent weeks, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, investor Marc Andreessen, Ben Horowitz, and David Sacks. The billionaire Winklevoss twins also threw their support behind the former president.

Despite the warming toward Trump, Silicon Valley remains a left-wing stronghold, with most leaning Democratic.
