A Hamas official warned that the terror group will carry out repeat attacks of the massacre it carried out on Oct. 7 in Israel that left roughly 1,400 people dead.

Ghazi Hamad, a member of the Hamas political bureau, said in an interview on Lebanon's LBC television last week that the terror group is prepared to repeat the terrorist attacks multiple times until Israel is wiped off the map.

"Israel is a country that has no place on our land. We must remove that country because it constitutes a security, military, and political catastrophe to the Arab and Islamic nation, and must be finished. We are not ashamed to say this, with full force," Hamad said in an interview that was translated by Memri. "We must teach Israel a lesson, and we will do this again and again. The Al-Aqsa Flood is just the first time, and there will be a second, a third, a fourth, because we have the determination, the resolve, and the capabilities to fight. Will we have to pay a price? Yes, and we are ready to pay it. We are called a nation of martyrs, and we are proud to sacrifice martyrs."

On the morning of Oct. 7, terrorists from Gaza broke through Israel's border wall and proceeded to slaughter roughly 1,400 people, the vast majority of whom were civilians. The terrorists went from community to community in the areas near the border with Gaza and killed families, torturing them, burning some alive, killing loved ones in front of one another, and murdering babies and children. Roughly 260 people were killed at an outdoor music festival.

More than 200 people were kidnapped and taken back to Gaza. Only five have since been freed.

Israeli and U.S. officials have likened the gruesome scenes to the terror attacks carried out by ISIS.

The Israeli government, in response to the worst terror attack in the country's 75-year history, has declared war on Hamas. The military has launched thousands of airstrikes in the weeks since the attack and has recently begun ground operations into Gaza. Israeli leaders have said they intend to ensure that Hamas no longer has the military capabilities to harm Israelis.

As Israel has pummeled Gaza with airstrikes, Hamas has continued firing rockets into Israel. Incoming rockets have been a common occurrence for the last nearly two decades in the communities near the Gaza Strip, with the occasional long-range rockets targeting areas further away, including Tel Aviv.

Israel's airstrikes have resulted in significant destruction of Gaza's infrastructure, creating a humanitarian crisis as hospitals struggle to handle the casualties, both civilian and combatant. As the situation worsens, the calls for a ceasefire have increased, though Israel and the U.S. do not support one.

"We do not believe that a ceasefire is the right answer right now. We believe that a ceasefire right now benefits Hamas, and Hamas is the only one that would gain. ... What we have said is temporary localized humanitarian pauses," National Security Council coordinator John Kirby said on Monday.

Hamas, following recent flare-ups with Israel, has broken ceasefire agreements, and Hamad's comments exemplify Israel's resistance to the idea.
