Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has called former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton "old" and "bitter" amid recent comments she made comparing former President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.
While appearing on Hannity Wednesday, Graham was asked about the current crisis between Israel and Hamas, to which the South Carolina senator said that he missed the former president and that he believes the latest conflict would not have happened under his leadership. However, he quickly directed the conversation toward Clinton.
WHAT THE GOP CAN LEARN FROM 2023
"But let's talk about Hillary Clinton," Graham said. "Old, bitter, and defeated is no way to go through life, so I support President Trump. It's offensive to me to suggest I’m supporting Adolf Hitler cause she disagrees with how he does business."
Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 presidential election, had appeared on The View earlier on Wednesday and discussed the former president's 2024 race for the White House. The View hosts asked Clinton what she thought about President Joe Biden's prospects in the 2024 election, and if he was the best candidate for Democrats next year. Clinton stated that "he is" and that the recent 2023 election results, in which the Republican Party experienced an underwhelming outcome, should be seen as good news for the president.
Asked what would happen if Trump were to become president again, Clinton stated that it would be the end of the United States "as we know it."
"I think he would be even worse now because he was somewhat restrained, believe it or not, in the first term, by people who he hired because he thought they would go along with him and they stood up to him. And so now he’s going to — if he were ever near the Oval Office again, find people who have no principles, no conscience, who are totally tied to his fortune," Clinton added. "Hitler was duly elected, right? And so, all of a sudden, somebody with those tendencies, the dictatorial, authoritarian tendencies, would be like 'Oh OK, we're going to shut this down, we're going to throw these people in jail,' and they didn't usually telegraph that. Trump is telling us what he intends to do."
In a rebuke to her comments, Graham went on to list multiple things that Trump did for Israel during his administration, including recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and getting six Arab nations to recognize Israel as "a legitimate, one and only Jewish state."
"That's not Adolf Hitler; that's the strongest supporter of Israel in modern American history," Graham said, eliciting applause from the audience. "Donald Trump did more for Israel than any single president; on Biden’s watch, more Jews have been killed since the Holocaust."

Trump is surpassing Biden in multiple battleground states in recent polling, including Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia.
The former president is expected to be the Republican Party's 2024 presidential nominee, as he is still polling ahead of his other primary competitors.
