NextImg:'Go back to Australia': Abbott issues statement to influencer who complained about US flags

Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) was not appreciative of an influencer's comments on flags put up in the United States, saying she should "go back to Australia" if U.S. flags bother her so much.

Abbott's statement was posted on X, the social media platform once known as Twitter, with a video of a woman who complained that there were too many U.S. flags in the U.S. The Australian influencer, Mia Chloe, noted that U.S. flags were "on houses, they're on cars" and that the U.S. is "the only country that I know that does this."

"Go back to Australia," the Texas governor wrote on social media regarding the video.

Chloe's video was posted on TikTok; however, as of Tuesday afternoon, her account, @meanderingwithmia, has been deleted.

Abbott's post on X received praise from other users on social media, with several responding to the governor's tweet with one or multiple U.S. flag emojis.

Abbott is no stranger to responding to criticism, including criticism directed at him. In July, Joy Behar, one of the hosts of The View, described the governor as "a sadist," which she described as a person who derives pleasure "from inflicting pain, suffering, or humiliation on others."

The Texas governor's office responded to Behar's statement by saying that if one were to look up the word "delusional" in the dictionary, one would find "a picture of Joy Behar."
