Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani asked social media users to call his former employer, WABC radio, to ask if it supports free speech after his show was taken off the air last week.

Giuliani was recently suspended and later fired by the station over his repeated claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from former President Donald Trump, whom he worked for as an attorney during Trump’s presidency. On X, the former mayor provided the phone number of the station and called on “ALL PATRIOTS” to give the station a call to see if it supports the First Amendment.

“The 2020 U.S. Presidential Election was stolen,” Giuliani wrote on X. “WABC Radio fired me for it, but it doesn’t change the facts. Even if you disagree or are skeptical, it doesn’t make it right to prohibit all conversations about the topic. If anything, it should compel us to talk MORE, not LESS.”

John Catsimatidis, the owner of WABC, filled in for Giuliani’s show on Sunday, during which he described the fallout as “very tragic.” The station owner later explained that Giuliani was given “three strikes” not to talk about the legitimacy of the 2020 election and that Giuliani’s behavior made it “hard not to terminate him.”

Giuliani denied being given multiple chances by Catsimatidis not to discuss the 2020 election and called the policy “a clear violation of free speech.” He also claimed that he was unaware of his firing until he was contacted by the New York Times for comment.

In the wake of Giuliani’s firing, all references to his show have been removed from WABC’s website.

Catsimatidis’s claim that he warned Giuliani not to discuss the validity of the 2020 election comes after Fox News agreed to settle a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems, which alleged the network aired false claims that it rigged the election against Trump. Dominion attorney Justin Nelson said the settlement was just over $787 million.
