A college in Georgia has reinstated mask mandates and "physical distancing" at its premises as a precaution against COVID-19 cases.

Morris Brown College, based in Atlanta, made the announcement on social media, informing students that these mandates would be reinstated immediately following reports of positive COVID-19 cases among students in the Atlanta University Center. The mandates for face masks and social distancing will be in effect for two weeks, according to the university's announcement.

In addition to these precautions, the school is taking other steps such as having no large gatherings (including student events and parties) and adhering to guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on isolation and quarantine. Students and school employees will also need to comply with temperature checks upon arriving at campus.

The school's return of COVID-19 precautions came as it started its fall semester last week on Aug. 14, according to its semester schedule.
