


Musician Kid Rock made it clear on Monday that Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) does not have his support despite Newsom sharing the rock star’s image on social media.
This month, Newsom’s press office pursued a new social media strategy to mirror that of President Donald Trump. Since Kid Rock is a staunch ally of the president, Kid Rock became a target in Newsom’s campaign to mock Trump.

Newsom’s press office’s X account shared an image, seemingly generated by artificial intelligence, of Newsom with his head bowed while Kid Rock, Tucker Carlson, and the late Hulk Hogan — depicted with angel wings and a halo — lay their hands on him in what appears to be a prayer.
“So nice!” the caption said.
In another post, Kid Rock is depicted as Uncle Sam, pointing straight forward at the viewer.
“Kid Rock wants you to support Governor Gavin Newsom,” the post said.
As a result, Kid Rock addressed the posts to clarify his own politics.
“The only support Gavin Newscum will ever get out of me is from DEEZ NUTZ,” Kid Rock wrote.
Kid Rock’s response did not stop the account from using his image.
When FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino congratulated the Trump administration for its recent successes with a post that read, “hats off,” Newsom’s account shared another AI-generated image of Kid Rock tipping his hat.
The Washington Examiner reached out to Newsom’s office for comment.
