The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Friday is $3.832, just below Thursday's price of $3.835. The price was $3.859 a week ago, according to AAA.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is $3.540, just below Thursday's price of $3.554. One week ago, the price was significantly higher at $3.655.
Virginia
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia is $3.542, below Thursday's $3.550 price. Last week, the price was $3.581.
Washington, D.C.
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., is $3.920, above Thursday's price of $3.912. The price one week ago was $3.913.
California
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California is rising with no end in sight, now at $6.079 on Friday. The price was $6.032 on Thursday; last week, it was much lower at $5.783.
New York
In New York, the average price is $3.902, just below Thursday's $3.905 price. Last week, the average price was $3.921.
